Hi friend,
Soon, I’ll be stepping away for a little staycation — not a grand adventure, but a quiet one close to home. This time is for rest, reflection, and the joy of being fully present in the world around me.
As an artist, I cherish these pauses. They let me observe, absorb, and reconnect with the natural rhythms that so often spark my creative fire. Sometimes, it’s the unexpected that leaves the deepest impression – like the time my friends and I met up to hangout and draw at the park.
While we were there, I spotted one of my friends tucked into a little patch of grass — paintbrush in hand, her blanket spread out like her own tiny studio under the open sky. She was deep in her own world, quietly sketching the trees nearby, letting the breeze and sunlight guide her strokes. Something about it felt like watching a living piece of art. The stillness, the focus, the way she blended right into the rhythm of the day — it was one of those quiet, magical moments that reminds me how creativity can bloom anywhere. That scene became the heart behind my “Painting at the Park” — a sweet little reminder that beauty and inspiration often find us right where we are.

If you’re feeling the pull for a pause, I hope you’ll give yourself one. It doesn’t need to be a grand adventure — sometimes the magic is right at your local park, under an open sky where inspiration quietly lingers.
While I’m galavanting around mammoth cave, you can explore my artwork anytime at my website. Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey with me.
Yours Truly,
Makara
