Happy Autumn, friends.
Are you well? It's been a busy market season in the summer and early fall, and I'm near burnout. It was so excited about the studio being functional and renovated after those terrible flooding incidents that I worked myself too hard.
On top of that, the economy has not been so great. It's frustrating to put in double effort and not get the equivalent in results. However, I am understanding of it all. I myself am a military spouse. These government shut downs have direct impact to me and the military families in my life. In times like these, I am reminded to slow down. There's no good reason to rushing into burnout.
With that in mind, I've decided to reduce the number of holiday markets this coming winter season. I'll only be doing Made Market in December and 'm sad I won't be able to see everyone as much. But I know that my health will thank me for it.
I'll take some time to slow down when possible to recharge and produce more new artworks for you. I've been creating small little paintings on the go to capture small day-to-day moments like the ones in the banner image up top. They are a quick and low stress opportunity o express without pressure.
These seemingly boring moments in my day are the most rejuvenating and I encourage you to pay attention to them as well.
Yours truly,
Makara
