Wandering Daydreams
Wandering Day Dreams is a journey of simple acceptance of what was, what is and what will be.
Artist Makara Thach Sernett observes moments in her colorful personal history much like how she observes passing clouds: with wistful fondness and acceptance.
By getting lost in hazy memories of a childhood in Thai refugee camps, biking along rice paddies in Vietnam and the challenging reality of being an immigrant, Makara eventually is found in daydreams. She finds love for her naive younger self, and embraces her complex adult self through simple observation.

Journey of the mind
My work embody parts of my journey toward mental health. My mind has a tendency to wander and ruminate as a means to seek the calm and clarity. It craves opportunities to explore the deep facets of my being. My artwork is exactly that: my mind going on adventures, getting lost, then found again to discover the light that feeds my soul.
